So you’ve heard the rumors for months now and even with NAB coming close, Apple pulled out years ago so nobody expected much. Enter the SUPERMEET, sponsored by the LAFCUG. Rumors swirled all over Twitter today that something BIG is going to happen. First, Philip Bloom and Canon where taken off the roster, poor Phillip is not longer presenting (although it hasn’t been updated on the website) and then superstar director Kevin Smith, brought in by Avid (why are they there?) is being relocated. Why? Because Apple wants the event all to themselves. One can only assume it would be to announce the new version of FCP. Wish I could be there, but I’ll be on a shoot that week...doing the real work. But, I’ll follow twitter from afar.
Here are a few links, I’m sure there are more blowing up as I write this.

Ill be down as well. Should be interesting.
I just scored two tickets to the event even though it was sold out!
Thanks Chris. I'll be baking away in Meza, Arizona on a shoot (hope our 5Dmk2's don't overheat). Keep us updated.
This is exciting news! I'll be down there on Tuesday and I'll try and post some photos and more or less cover the event.

It sounds like the oringal release date to Apple's Final Cut Studio upgrade is going to miss it's 2010 target. It will most likely see an upgrade in 2011. The unified interface that was rumored to mesh all the applications together in a seamless workflow seems to have been put off until 2013 due to some staff disagreements, and software engineers being reassigned to other Apple agendas.

Apple's Final Cut Studio 3 professional video and audio production suite to update only half of its applications.
While details are limited, people with inside knowledge of Apple's plans for FCS say the suite will introduce major new versions of Final Cut Pro (v7.0), Motion (v4.0), and Soundtrack Pro (v3.0). The remainder of the application upgrades will reportedly consist of point release, and include Color (v1.5), Compressor (v3.5), and DVD Studio Pro (v4.2.2). It appears as if Apple doens't see a future in DVD, and that DVD studio pro will eventually fall by the wayside to more streamlined, economical online distribution methods.
