The wonder and power of Star Wars as a timeless enterprise is enough to keep the struggling filmmaker's hope alive, or at least enough to get him to whip out his wallet and contribute to the pile of cash Mr. Lucas is now napping on. Hats off to Mr. Lucas who had the vision and foresight to take less on the front-end, and have full hope and confidence of the lucrative merchandising on the backend. In my opinion, Star Wars was the film franchise that solidified the concept of film merchadising on such a massive level. It defined a whole after-market revenue stream that has become its own galactic economy.
Mr. Lucas, here is to you, and your Death Star full of Vader Bills.
