TOPIC: 16mm to HD

16mm to HD 12 months ago #878

I made a 16mm film during my time at the UofU and want it converted to HD since I will probably never own a 16mm projector. Anyone know of a good local place to do this?

Thanks!

Andrew

I work in the A/V section of special collections at the Marriott Library on the U of U on campus and we have just recently got our brand new 8MM and 16MM transfer machines set up. They transfer in full HD. I would suggest that you bring it to us, we offer the best price you will find. Just call up the Marriott and talk to either Roy or Justin in the A/V Collections about it and they will be able to answer all your questions.

I am working on a film about Jeff Lowe, one of Utah's premier mountain climbers. Most of the historical footage is 16mm. Can you transfer to 1080p? I would also like to discuss donating some of his Utah climbs to the library.

Thanks,

Yes, the machine can transfer in full 1080p the picture is amazing. And the library would love to have some footage of Jeff Lowe's climbs. Just contact special collections in the Marriott Library and ask for Roy or Justin and they can answer all your questions and help you to get in here.
