What are the best steps to take in order to rescue a corrupt final cut pro project file? Any suggestions?

When I had a corrupt project file I just went into the autosave vault and opened an earlier version. It was pretty much up to date and saved me from a lot of work I would have had to redo. The autosave vault folder is in your Final Cut Pro Documents folder, that is if you didn't turn off autosaving in your user preferences...

Thanks for the reply, I was aware of the Auto-Save vault, but I know that I have heard of video editors being able to entirely restore a corrupt Final Cut Pro file through the use of some shareware applications...any ideas?

Sometimes, not always. It's your preferences. I love FCP rescue. It has saved me from using to much aspirin.
