So I have run into this problem several times with the most recent version of FCP but have never really had trouble with it in past versions. I am mixing a few audio tracks in FCP, no more than 8-10, and I keep getting the same audio glitch in the same spot. I have trashed the prefs and all the audio render files and it has yet to fix the problem. It is as erratic and as annoying as a gopher that keeps popping its head up, and I can never hit it with my shotgun.

Any ideas how to fix this mysterious audio glitch?

Have you pinpointed where the glitch is? Is it just in one spot? can you describe it? You look cold in that picture.

Sounds like a corrupt audio file. I would open the file back up in QuickTime 7 and re-export it as sound_ver_02.aif. Bring it back into Final Cut Pro, copy and paste the level and pan attributes of your original corrupted audio file, and then delete the old file from off the timeline. This will force Final Cut Pro to get rid of all sound render files, and recache the new audio clip. It should work.
We cannot solve our problems with the same thinking we used when we created them.
