I believe Apple has decided to screw me over for being a MobileMe user. I am unable to log into the Apple Certification Record System and I contacted Apple about this error I was getting.

Here is the e-mail:
Hello and thank you for contacting Apple.

You need to create a new Apple ID starting from the ACRS login page - training.apple.com/acrs Your current AppleID is not a valid type.

Per system requirements, your Apple ID for ACRS cannot match your personal customer Apple ID or @me.com or @mac.com email address. This site requires you to use a business Apple ID account.

Now this really frustrates me because I have been using this account for the last four years and have about ten certifications including my Final Cut Master Pro certification. I mention this not to boast but out of frustration that I have to basically start over again. Those of you that have done recertification with Apple know it’s much easier than starting out fresh.

So besides from just needing to vent, I wanted to know if anyone else out there has ran into this or could try their MobileMe login to see if it works for them.

That's why the best certification is your work, and not a piece of paper from Apple. I think in the long run your work will stand as the true test of competency. The only way I would care if an editor was certified or not is if I was hiring him to do some menial editorial work that required mere button pushing and a general knowledge of FCP. If I was hiring a storyteller, I would look deeper than technical know-how. People will hire you because of your professionalism, work ethic, and your reel.
