Looking to see if there is a software setting i am failing with.
I am luma keying a logo in jpeg format and when I go to render on timeline, it gives me a
"Codec not found" you may be using a compression type without the corresponding hardware type.

I have a brand new Imac and Final cut studio.

Any suggestions? Is it really the hardware or is there a setting I messed up?
thanks,
Luke

Check to see if the image is a CMYK image, if so you will need to convert it to RGB in Photoshop. Final Cut Pro can't render CMYK images, as you probably know CMYK images are used for images destined for print.
We cannot solve our problems with the same thinking we used when we created them.

It is RGB. The same exact technique works on other timelines for me, but not this one.
Apple pro res LT is the current setting, which i haven't used before. Its always been just the Pro Res.
I even copy pasted it from another project and no dice.

Check your render settings in Final Cut Pro, if your image is an 8-bit image and your rendering at 10-bit, that can cause the render error as well.
