Has anyone used this camera for a project? How did you deal with audio? Did you record it separate? Does it even record Stereo? Or just mono? The image quality is pretty impressive, I'd like to get some insight as to the work flow in Final Cut Pro after shooting, how to ingest and digest the footage. Any first or even second hand experience would be helpful.

I'll tell you the little that I learned (I keep forgetting to bring this cam in so we can mess with it!).

-the D90 records to a Motion JPEG A compression wrapped in an .AVI. You can import this into Final Cut, but it doesn't know what to do with it and forces you to render the whole thing to see it. You get that "files are not optimized" pop-up/
-I just dropped the files into compressor and made them 720p ProRes 422 and it works great.
-The D90 will ONLY record at 24fps at 1280x720, 30fps at 640x480 and the smaller size (I forget what it is).

-There is no Image Stabilization when shooting video and because of the shape of the camera, it is unnatural for video shooting. You basically have to use a tripod or some companies are starting to sell shoulder mount rigs.

-There is an article in this months DV magazine that talks a lot about this also, about some of the limitations with exposure, etc. Worth checking out.

I banged out this video using the Nikon D90. I chose to shoot it in this very zoomy/focusy look which worked great on the D90

Once again, NICE WORK my friend. I'm excited to use the Canon Mark 5d II on some shoots. Any body else have some DSLR Cinematography pieces they could share?
