I just heard a rumor that you could hack the HVX200 so that when shooting in interval record (time-lapse) mode it can mimic the timed exposure effect you can get from a film camera. Has anyone else heard of this? Any idea how this might work?

We have not personally done it, but I know someone who has. Jake at TV Specialist told me that he took a user setting and saved it to an SD card. Then he altered the text file of that user setting and then forced the camera to read that slightly altered user setting. He achieved frame rates like- 2 frames per sec. for example. You may want to call him up.

Can we get that text file posted here in this thread? As a downloadable document that can then be put back on the SD card and uploaded to a P2 Camera?
We cannot solve our problems with the same thinking we used when we created them.

Thanks for the tip, Travis. I emailed Jake at TV Specialists and he sent me this thread on the DVXuser website detailing how to achieve the timed exposure effect:

I have not had a chance to try it out yet, but I will post the results when I do.

Thanks again!
