Who is going to be at the SLCFCPUG meeting on Oct. 1st?

I will be at the meeting. I believe Chris and Patrick- the other two founders of the user's group- will also be there. We hope those that we have invited to preview the user's group site will attend as well, in addition to the numerous individuals in our database that will be invited to sign up for the user's group on the public release date Oct. 1.

Just to be clear, this is actually a TV Specialist / Apple event on Wednesday and not just the launch of the users group. It is a dual purpose meeting. The primary function of the meeting this Wed. is to support and attend the Apple workshop on FCP Studio 2 where there will be an opportunity to dig deeper into Color and Motion. Then second, because it was an Apple event and it coincided with the timing of the user's group site, we thought it would make the perfect setting to formally announce the launch. Hope that helps.

Do you have to sign up at the TV Specialist website? I think you do, but I am not sure. It is free though.

FYI for all those still attending this morning's Apple meeting at TV Specialist, I found out from them that it is probably less for expert users of Color and Motion 2 and more of an overview for the masses. There will be a chance to ask questions, but not as intense of a workshop as say- a paid training course. More of an opportunity to sell the finer aspects of the FCP Studio 2 suite to all interested. Just didn't want anyone to come disappointed because it didn't talk about any super-deep topics. Anyway see you there...

May I just make mention that the FCP meeting we had at TV specialists went very well. Also I will send out an email blast to those that joined for a coupon to use toward purchase of Apple product. I did not mention it there (Forgot sorry) But they are sending out coupons and I'll let you know. Thanks for coming.

I sadly just got the email about this yesterday! I would have loved to come. Kudos to the founders of this site, it was definitely needed!

Thanks for joining and thanks for the kudos. This is something we have been planning for 4 years, and finally have gotten it done. We hope to make it the best user group in the country. I can't stress enough the power of networking, which is why we want to make sure everyone comes to the meetings. The online experience is augmented when you combine it with a tangible offline experience.

We have a lot of things planned, so get involved! Also, spread the word at the University of Utah Film Department. We want to get students involved as much as possible.

Just FYI we will be having a meeting in November, so stay tuned for the announcement.
