TOPIC: Best DVD Ripper

Best DVD Ripper 2 years, 10 months ago #441

I have a project I am doing for a guy that has his presentations on dvd's. These are in no way copy protected dvd's. What is the BEST dvd ripper out there (whether it costs or not) and what are the best and correct settings to use on a dvd ripper for FULL quality ripping.

Thanks!

Thanks... so to get to this page do I go to "File" then to "Export to DV"? and is this the best format to edit it in FCP Studio 2?

The quicktime format is as "native" as you'll get for editing in FCP which means its best to edit with. And since you're pulling off a regular or SD DVD, then the DV/NTSC codec(compressor) is what you want. When you are done editing you can export back out to a master quicktime file with the same settings. Then you can use that master quicktime file to make other compressed versions for web, DVD, etc.

Good luck and let us know if you have any more questions.
