SIDEWALK CINEMA SUBMISSION DETAILS:
{flv width="424" height="244"}sidewalk_cinema_submission_details{/flv}
The screen size is 1024 pixels by 768 pixels. These dimensions are very common for web browsers and computer monitors, so most software will have an export setting of 1024x768.
SUBMISSIONS for Sidewalk Cinema should be as a DIGITAL COMPUTER FILE burned to a disk or on a flashdrive, NOT burned as a chapter on a DVD intended for a DVD player, and should have the following parameters:
STILL IMAGES should be in jpeg format. (pdfs will not work). They should be 1024 x 768 or smaller.
VIDEO FILES should be in quicktime (.mov) or windows media viewer (.wmv). They should also NOT be set as "streaming video." The ideal short video is just a couple of minutes long, is smaller than 30MB, and set at MEDIUM resolution. YouTube resolution is too low, and most high resolution exports are going to be too large of a computer file.
OK brilliant filmmakers, let's be clear about something... Yes, yes, we're sure your brilliant 27 minute short film is the most amazing thing we've ever seen, but we simply cannot get something longer than a couple of minutes to stream cleanly to each of the windows. Sure, send it in, but we're not going to be able to put it in the window. Also, anything with violence, nudity, language, or ANYTHING stronger than a proverbial "PG" rating is not going to be put in the window. Please be nice.
